Your palm has a handful of lines that palmistry reads as different threads of your character and life. Here's a clear map of what each one is traditionally linked to — and a reminder, up front, that no single line tells the whole story.
The three major lines
Almost every hand shows three main lines, and they do most of the work in a reading:
- The heart line runs across the top of the palm and is read for your emotional life — how you love, connect, and relate to others. There's a full breakdown in what the heart line reveals about your emotional life.
- The head line sits below it and is linked to your mind — how you think, decide, and approach problems. We get into the detail in how the head line reflects the way you think.
- The life line curves around the base of the thumb and is read for vitality, energy, and your general approach to living — not, despite the famous myth, the length of your life. Here's what the life line actually reflects.
The fate and sun lines
Two more lines appear on many (though not all) hands:
- The fate line runs up the centre of the palm and is associated with direction, work, and the sense of a path through life. We explain it in what the fate line is traditionally read for.
- The sun line sits toward the ring-finger side and is linked to fulfilment, creativity, and recognition. Here's what the sun line is associated with.
If you don't have one or both, that's completely normal — many people don't, and it isn't a bad sign.
The relationship and money lines
Smaller lines are read for specific areas of life:
- Marriage, or relationship, lines sit on the side of the palm below the little finger. We cover them honestly in how the relationship lines are read.
- Money lines are a few markings some traditions link to your relationship with resources and opportunity. We take an honest, grounded look in what palmistry says about money lines — and it's reflection, not financial advice.
The health line
There's also a line some traditions call the health line. The name is misleading, so we're careful with it: it is not medical information of any kind. Here's what the so-called health line really means, and why anything to do with your body belongs with a doctor.
It's the combination that counts
The single most important thing to remember: no line is read alone. A strong head line means something different depending on the hand it sits in and the lines around it. Reading the lines is about how the threads weave together, which is exactly what we cover in how a reading is actually done.
And the lines describe tendencies and themes to reflect on — never a fixed fate, and never anything medical. We keep that line bright and clear in what your hands can and can't reveal.
How Kalm does it
At Kalm, a gifted reader looks at your lines as a whole — together with your hand's shape and the question on your mind — and writes you a thoughtful, personal interpretation, saved to your dashboard usually within the hour. You can reread it as it settles rather than trying to remember a live call.
When you're ready, you can start a palm reading here.
Readings on Kalm are for guidance, insight, and entertainment. They are never a guaranteed prediction of the future, and they are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
