Within Vedic astrology there are different schools, and KP — Krishnamurti Paddhati — is one of the best known. Here's how it compares with classical Jyotish.
What KP is
KP is a twentieth-century system developed by K. S. Krishnamurti. It works from the sidereal zodiac like classical Jyotish, but leans on fine sub-divisions and the "sub-lord" of a point, aiming for a more precise and specific style of reading.
How it differs from classical Vedic
Where classical Jyotish draws on the broad toolkit — houses, planets, the planetary periods that map life's seasons, and yogas — KP streamlines the method around cusps and sub-lords. Both ultimately rest on how a reading is actually done: interpreting the same sky, with a different emphasis.
Which is "better"
Neither is more real or more accurate; they're different methods reading the same chart, and the choice comes down to a reader's training and preference.
How to hold it
Whichever method a reader uses, the honest limits are the same: a chart is reflection, never a guaranteed forecast. We keep that boundary clear in what a chart can and can't reveal.
How Kalm does it
At Kalm, a gifted reader reads your chart in the context of your whole chart and the question on your mind, then writes you a thoughtful, personal interpretation — saved to your dashboard usually within the hour.
